Reading a book that my friend Sharon has in her apartment that is about the Lazzi: The Comic Routines of the Commedia dell'Arte. Fantastic stuff: So far my favorite absolutely has to be the Lazzi of I am not a Doctor. I kid you not:
"Malizia accuses Pulcinella of not being a Doctor. Pulcinella replies that he is not a Doctor, as if disagreeing with Malizia. This is repeated."
Fantastic, Fantastic stuff. I hope to get up to similar foolishness in the course of a gig I landed with Leaky Heaven Circus, a 4 week workshop/performance type thing in which we will explore commedia, masks and all sorts of physical tomfoolery. I'm drooling with anticipation.
