Back in the West End...except I'm not.

Sad news...my friend Sharon's Dad passed away and she's back in Winnipeg for an undetermined period of time. The silver lining in it is that I'm back in the West End looking after her apartment and her silly cat, Ledger. But for a few days I'm in Chilliwack dogsitting my favorite animal, Ben One-Eye. Chilliwack is paradise when the weather is fine, but dreary when it isn't. Reports call for rain through the weekend. Yecch.

One of my favorite radio shows is going through a drastic change...Loveline, the syndicated call-in show hosted by comic Adam Carolla and Dr.Drew Pinsky, got me through some tough times and taught me some valuable life lessons over the past year after my separation...During my government contract job I spent 6 months locked in the file room with Howard Stern and Loveline on my IPOD, and driving from Toronto to Vancouver in April I would listen to an episode or two each day. Now Carolla is leaving to replace Stern on the West Coast and the show will continue with Dr.Drew and an as yet undetermined cohost, but Adam Carolla combined a 'who gives a shit' sense of humor with a unique human insight. I'll miss him...but I suppose it's time to move on...the show was there for me when I needed it, and man, did I need it...but during the past few months I've rediscovered many of the joys of life, and am spending far less time listening to the radio alone. Which is absolutely fucking fantastic.
